Founder-ready call script
Quotelapse · revenue recovery
The 15-minute call
A founder-light call guide. No live CRM connect. No live math promise.
The Quotelapse discovery call gathers five simple facts about a contractor's book, then we review the facts back at the office. Within one business day the prospect gets an opportunity estimate — a rough dollar ceiling sized against their average ticket and dormant volume — and a pilot recommendation: yes, not yet, or not at all. No deck. No demo. No screen-share.
This page is the script the founder keeps open during the call. Each of the five questions is stated in the exact phrasing you can use verbatim — plus a soft follow-up for the moments when the prospect hesitates.

Founder-lightWhat it is
A 15-minute qualification call. Five quick questions.
What it isn't
No live CRM connect. No live revenue promise. No demo.
What happens next
We review the facts and follow up with an opportunity estimate + a pilot recommendation within one business day.
01 · What we ask
Five facts. No screen-share needed.
Each fact is small enough to answer in five seconds. A round-number estimate is fine. We need ranges, not precision.
Fact 01
CRM or platform
What CRM or platform are you running the book on today?
Why we ask: So we name the right plumbing — ServiceTitan, Jobber, HubSpot, a spreadsheet — in the follow-up.
Fact 02
Dormant lead or estimate volume
Roughly how many dormant leads or unclosed estimates are sitting in that book right now?
Why we ask: A round-number estimate is fine — this sizes the recoverable pool for the follow-up.
Fact 03
Average job value
What’s your average job or ticket value?
Why we ask: So the opportunity estimate in the follow-up is grounded in your real average, not a benchmark.
Fact 04
Current follow-up
Who’s following up on these today, and how?
Why we ask: Lets us spot where the gaps are and avoid proposing work you’re already doing.
Fact 05
Weekly install capacity
How many installs or appointments could your team realistically handle per week?
Why we ask: So the pilot recommendation in the follow-up doesn’t promise more than you can absorb.
02 · The script
Read-aloud phrasings.
Each opener is the exact phrasing you can use. The follow-up is for the moment when the prospect hesitates or says “I'm not sure”.
CRM or platform
“Before we go any further — what are you running the book on today?”
If they hesitate: “Just the name is fine. We can reach back out if we need anything deeper.”
Dormant lead or estimate volume
“And roughly how many dormant leads or unclosed estimates do you think are in there right now? A ballpark is great.”
If they hesitate: “If you had to guess — a hundred, a thousand, somewhere in between?”
Average job value
“What’s your average ticket on a closed job?”
If they hesitate: “Even a wide range is fine — $1,500, $3,000, $10,000. We only need it so the math lands in the right zip code.”
Current follow-up
“Who follows up on these today, and how?”
If they hesitate: “Nobody, one of the office folks, a dispatcher — whatever the answer is, that’s the answer.”
Weekly install capacity
“Last one — how many installs or appointments could your team realistically handle per week?”
If they hesitate: “A rough number is fine — we’re not committing to anything on this call.”
03 · Before the call
Three minutes of prep.
The pre-call checklist. Quick on purpose — the founder's week has a hard cap.
- 01
Open this page on a second screen before the call.
- 02
Have a quiet 15-minute window — turn off notifications.
- 03
Don’t ask for screen-share on the call. The five questions are all you need.
- 04
If the prospect says they can’t answer one of the five, move on — a round-number estimate is fine.
- 05
Do not promise any number on the call. Promise the follow-up.
04 · The close
Read the closing script nearly verbatim — almost word-for-word. The five facts land in the follow-up email, not on this call.
““That’s all I need. Here’s what happens next: we take what you told me back to the team, and within one business day you’ll get an email with an opportunity estimate — a rough dollar ceiling sized against your average ticket and your dormant volume — and a pilot recommendation: yes / not yet / not at all, with the reasons. No deck, no demo, no live numbers on a screen today. If the math isn’t there, we’ll say so on the follow-up — that’s the honest answer too. Sound good?””
“Sound good?” ends the call. Then the founder logs the five facts in the kickoff intake form and replies within one business day.
After the call: After the call: log the five facts in the intake form, send the opportunity estimate + pilot recommendation within one business day. If the math isn’t there, say so plainly — that is a real outcome, not a failure.
05 · Book it
15 minutes. Five quick questions.
We listen, take five notes, and follow up within one business day with an opportunity estimate and a pilot recommendation. No deck, no demo, no live CRM connect.
